“Wrapped In Presence” Blanket Making Event

Join the b-present Foundation and Fleece and Thank You in creating fleece blankets for children and young adults in the hospital. A life-threatening diagnosis turns life upside down. Patients need to know that they are not facing the diagnosis alone and feel connected to the world as they undergo treatment. One effective way to achieve this is by providing items of comfort, a reminder of home, and a visual reminder of family, friends, or a community rooting for them to finish treatment.

Our team at b-present saw firsthand how something as simple as a soft, comfy, colorful blanket could provide the lift a patient needs, even when no one is nearby. Kirsten, the inspiration behind b-present, was always a huge fan of soft, fuzzy blankets. Soon after she was diagnosed with leukemia, Kirsten received a blanket from her best friend Kelly. With that blanket, Kirsten was wrapped in the presence of her best friend whenever she needed it.

Our Wrapped in Presence partnership with Fleece and Thank You allows YOU to create comfort and hope for someone going through a difficult time. Every soft, colorful fleece blanket symbolizes the love and support of friends, family, and community.

Option #1

Make and hand-deliver a blanket to a loved one going through a tough time: This is an opportunity for you and your friends to create a special gift for your friend. You can record a personal video to go along with the blanket for your friend to watch after receiving it.

Order your kits directly through this page and have them shipped right to your front door. If you have any special requests, provide those in the comments section.
You will receive the blanket kits in the mail with all of the instructions you need to create the blanket and record the video message.
After finishing your blankets, you can deliver them directly to your friend in need (or work with their primary caregiver or medical facility) OR mail/drop them with the b-present Foundation to be delivered to someone in the hospital.

Option #2

Donate to the group fundraising page, even if you don’t have time to make the blankets yourself.

Members can contribute any amount of money; it all counts!

Every $30 contributes toward another blanket to be made by the group for a child in the hospital.

The blanket kits will be shipped to b-present for assembly and delivery to patients in need.

We have a goal of 100 blankets for this epic event!

Let’s Make a Difference During This Time

The Fleece & Thank You Blanket Kit allows the blanket makers to record a video message that goes to the patient who receives the blanket. The patient can then send a message back to the maker. We are excited to feel our own sense of connection during this time while also being able to give connection to our friends in the hospital.

Our blanket kit is much more than just the fleece. Our blanket kit is an inspirational experience for the sick child, paid forward by you and made by your hands.

Your purchase of our blanket kits helps us cover the entire process of blanket delivery from raw materials to hospital bed. Instead of purchasing fabric at the fabric store, purchasing the kit from us is a critical part to keeping our service to hospitals sustainable.

Blanket Kit Cost Breakdown

Our kits are unique in the way they provide comfort to kids in the hospital!

The most impactful part of our blankets is the video message that goes along with them from the makers. At a time when children are missing their friends and becoming disconnected, we give them a friendly face and message of support.
These are the central source of funding for our mission. Where a fabric store sells you just the fleece, our kits are an all-inclusive donation that gets the blanket from the maker’s hands to a hospital bed with a video message for the warrior receiving it.
Our blanket kits are a special part of the process because they have the unique tag already pressed onto them that carries your video message with the blanket.
The cost per kit is $30, and that donation helps cover everything from fleece to video to hospital delivery and gives each sick child comfort for their hospital journey and a friendly face of support in a video.
Our kits are made in our warehouse by a group of young adults and adults with disabilities. It is our goal to employ them full-time soon, and the purchase of our kits supports that secondary mission.
With 22 hospital partnerships across the state, we deliver your blanket to the next children’s unit in Michigan with kiddos that need your comfort.
