Summary

Looking for a fun, easy, and rewarding scout project?  Fleece & Thank You partnered with David for his Eagle Scout Project. David raised $7,500+ to make over 300 blankets for kids in the hospital.

Challenge

In June of 2020, David S. was looking for an organization to benefit for his Eagle Scout Project. Especially during a pandemic, he was struggling to find a good fit for service. David found Fleece & Thank You, a nonprofit with the ability to host a completely remote service opportunity by shipping blankets to any number of individuals and leading a virtual video blanket-making session OR hosting an in-person event.  Fleece & Thank You’s process was an easy solution to fit David’s needs.

Event Logistics

Fleece & Thank You created a custom fundraising page for David to easily collect online donations from friends and family around the country an

d world. David also hit the streets and did multiple can drives, stocking box trucks 10 feet high with bags of cans. Once David’s event date came around, he had raised $7,500+ that all went toward blanket kits to be made. Instead of working completely remote and shipping blankets to participants, David decided to gather up fami

ly and friends and have a blanket-making party in-person.  After the successful event, David’s blankets were taken through Fleece & Thank You’s quality control process before being delivered to children’s hospitals and units across MI.
